Hi friends I am a foreigner in the Phil.Where can I buy good second hand furniture in manila.Please help!?

I am here for atleast the next 5 years and wish to buy second hand furniture . How and where can I find good quality furniture.Probably some place where foriegners sell or dispose ther furniture while leaving.Pls help

1. I have no idea. But how did you get a 5 year gig in the Philippines? That is quite a feat.
2. Look in the classified section of one of the smaller local newspapers, don't dismiss the Manila Bulletin or Star though. If the Sun Star is available in your area have a quick look through that, there are always foreigners at the end of a contract/whatever selling up furniture and vehicles. I hope it's allowed, but I've put a link to the British Ex-pats Forum Far East, there are many sections, look at the top of the page there are classifieds arcade etc. you will need to join up first, it's free you just need an e-mail address. A quick advert on there might help. A word to the wise, your biggest danger of being ripped off comes from your own fellow countrymen, because you trust them, remember it takes but one bad apple.
3. check with some foreign social groups like the american women's club of the philippines or In touch foundation for some contacts. they'll know about foreigners disposing of furniture. you can also check out expat publications like Foreign Post or What's On Expat or ask foreign chambers of commerce.
