Where can I buy used furniture NOT AT thrift stores?

I am seeking used furniture BUT NOT at thrift stores. I remember used furniture stores used to be everywhere and now I am hard pressed to find one! Anyone have any ideas?

1. you can go on craisglist.com to find stuff near your area
2. at a used furniture store garage sales estate sales
3. I notice a lot of them claim to be "antique" stores now, even though most of what they carry may not actually be antiques.
4. Garage sales can be good, as can your local paper's classifieds.
5. Sometimes furniture stores do sell used furniture. You can also watch the 'FOR SALE' ads in your local newspaper, or attend garage sales, estate sales, which would also be advertised in your local paper.
6. I don't know where they went either. Try Craigslist. . . a lot of times, people post pictures so they don't have upteen people traipsing through their house. My neighbor actually has a little sideline. She buys up furniture at yard sales, cleans it up, makes any repairs and sells it on, you guessed it, Craigslist.
